Who We Are
Saint Lucy Eye Clinic was founded in April 2019 by Dr. Abalo Kodjo with the sole aim of establishing a modern and well-equipped clinic to provide quality and affordable eye care services to all patients especially the poor and vulnerable with the ultimate goal of avoiding preventable blindness and maximizing vision
DR. ABALO KODJO
FounderDoctor Abalo Kodjo graduated from the University of Benin in Lome, Togo after 7 years in General medicine with a Doctorate Degree. Dr. Kodjo proceeded further to France to complete his Specialization in Ophthalmology at the University of Lille 2 after 5 years of training. He also holds a Diploma in HIV Diseases Management from the University of Lille 2 in France and a Certificate in Microsurgery Course at the University of Lille 2, France.
After his specialization, Dr. Kodjo practiced as an Ophthalmologist at Lens, Seclin, Dunkerque Teaching Hospitals in France before moving to Ghana in 1996. In Ghana, he has been a practicing ophthalmologist at Emmanuel Eye Centre, East Legon for 22 years and has assumed the responsibility of Medical Director for 14 years.
Dr. Kodjo has done clinical attachments at Rotterdam Eye Hospital in The Netherlands, at Cranberry Surgery Centre at Pittsburg, Pennsylvania in the USA. He also did International Blind Sports Federation (IBSA) National Classifier’s Course in Praia, Cape Verde.
Dr. Kodjo is currently the founder and Medical Director of ST. LUCY EYE CLINIC at Lashibi, Tema in Ghana.
He is also a part-time Ophthalmologist at Nyaho Medical Center at Airport Residential Area in Accra.
He is a registered member of the Ghana Medical and Dental Council and a member of the Ophthalmological Society of Ghana.
